SCCI concludes successful participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, with more than 30 business forums, 5 agreements

SHARJAH- The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has concluded its participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, where it sought to highlight the advantages of the Sharjah emirate’s business environment and the promising investment opportunities available in different business sectors, have proven to be fruitful and constructive, culminating in several agreements and business meetings with various participating countries.

During Expo 2020 Dubai, CSIC participated in over 49 events, including Nur-Sultan Investment and Tourism Forum, Global Business Forum Africa (GBF), Invest in Sharjah, Global Business Forum Latin America (GBF ) and the World Chambers Congress (WCC).

In addition, CSIC held and organized 30 business meetings, including the Sharjah-Sao Paulo Business Forum, the Russian-Arab Business Council (RABC) Forum, and the Sharjah Pavilion’s participation in the annual Forum of the investment (AIF) 2022.

As a result of his efforts, the chamber has signed five cooperation agreements and joint Memoranda of Understanding (MoU). Signatories include the European Women’s Association (EWA), the Government of the Republic of Guatemala, the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Libya, the Turin Chamber of Commerce and the Estonian Association of information and telecommunications technologies (ITL).

In addition, SCCI also received several high-level delegations, including Carlos Alvarado Quesada, President of Costa Rica, Robert Effan, United States Secretary of State of Nebraska, Eva-Maria Liimets, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic from Estonia. , a delegation from the US state of Florida, and Dr. Peter Ramsauer, President of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GACIC).

“We have been keen to make the most of Expo 2020 Dubai by forging several partnerships and agreements. Through these efforts, we have paved the way for new opportunities for local businesses and chamber members to sign agreements. of cooperation with international business communities, in addition to highlighting the benefits of setting up businesses in the UAE,” said Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI.

He added that SCCI has used its participation in Expo 2020 Dubai to promote Sharjah’s business and investment opportunities, as well as showcasing the emirate’s status as a preferred investment destination, thanks to its strategic location, its sophisticated logistics infrastructure, its economic diversification, and flagship projects in new sectors of the region.

In addition, Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Managing Director of CSIC, also affirmed that he was delighted with the success of the Chamber’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, stating that it had achieved the desired objectives emphasizing SCCI’s role as a voice and advocate for Sharjah’s business community, as well as the benefits it offers foreign investors to help them grow and prosper, and become more competitive in the global marketplace.
