Former Miss Universe Catriona Gray is on safari in Manyeleti Game Reserve.

The 27-year-old is making the most of her time in South Africa after arriving in the country earlier this month to be a backstage host to 2021 Miss South Africa live.

In the history of Filipino beauty pageants, Catriona is the first Filipina to represent the country in the Miss World and Miss Universe competitions. She placed in the top 5 at Miss World in 2016 and won the Miss Universe title two years later.

This is not Catriona’s first visit to South Africa; she was on the jury for Miss South Africa 2019 when the title went to Zozibini Tunzi, who then inherited the Miss Universe crown from Catriona a few months later.

Now, the beauty queen has taken “a few days off to get lost in the South African bush”.

The 23,000-hectare Manyeleti Private Reserve is located between the Timbavati and Sabi Sands Game Reserves and borders the famous Kruger National Park.

“It was much colder than expected but what an experience! [sic]“Catriona captioned a series of photos taken during a safari.

In another “photo repository,” the Filipino-Australian model shares photos of zebras, elephants, rhinos and lions.
