Sisulu succeeds Mmamoloko Kubayi, now Minister of Human Settlements.

“Dear Minister Lindiwe Sisulu, Congratulations on your appointment as Minister of Tourism! We welcome this dynamic and dynamic portfolio and look forward to helping you position South Africa as a world-class destination, ”congratulated the Department of Tourism on her new role on Twitter.

Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) CEO Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa said Minister Sisulu’s appointment continues to show the importance of tourism in the economy.

“We welcome it as a Tourism Business Council.

“The industry faces a variety of challenges including unfavorable travel advisories and a country red list of critical source markets, transportation permits, adoption of vaccine passports and negative branding due to the unrest.

“We believe that the experience and expertise of the new minister will help the tourism sector meet both immediate and long-term challenges,” he said.
