Jingle Bell Run scheduled for Saturday

The elite runners of Fremont. The club will host its annual Jingle Bell Run on Saturday at the Hayes Presidential Library and Museums.

The 5 kilometer race begins and ends at Spiegel Grove, the home ground of Hayes Presidential and the home of President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes. Tarts slopes at 10 a.m.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at The Grove. The registration fee is $ 25. Advance registration and payment can be made at https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/Fremont/TheJingleBellRun.

The race is open to runners and walkers, and creative holiday costumes are encouraged. The runners’ club donates the profits from this event to Hayes Presidential.

Participants can take a self-guided museum tour for free during the hour following the race.

On the morning of the race, the main entrance to Spiegel Grove will be closed from 9.45 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Instead, the Jefferson Gate on Hayes Avenue will be used for vehicular traffic during this time.

Closure of the African Safari Wildlife Park for the 2021 season

PORT CLINTON – Families looking for interactive animal adventures will want to head to the African Safari Wildlife Park before it closes for the 2021 season on December 5. The park is slated to reopen for the 2022 season on March 18.

The Drive-Thru Safari, which offers customers the opportunity to see and feed more than 400 individual animals directly from their cars, will remain open until Sunday. The Walk-Thru Safari and Activities officially closed for winter on October 3. The Walk-Thru Safari is expected to reopen in early May 2022.

The Ohio Safari Park, African Safari Wildlife Park, is located at 267 S. Lightner Road.

Gibsonburg will organize tree lighting on Saturday

GIBSONBURG – The Gibsonburg Community Corporation will be hosting the annual tree lighting at Williams Park at 6 p.m. Saturday. There will be Christmas carols sung by the Hilfiker students, cookies, hot chocolate and a visit from Santa.

The Bradner Legion to Host a Baked Steak Dinner

BRADNER – The Bradner American Legion Post, 209 West Crocker St., will be having an oven-baked steak dinner at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Call Orders at 419-288-3634 for pickup, or go through the mail and eat in the room. The menu is a baked steak with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, a bun, dessert and a drink. The cost is $ 9.
