BTA taps top Cup Match influencers to promote the island for photo and film shoots – The Royal Gazette

Top social media influencers with millions of followers were brought to the island during the Cup Match to help promote Bermuda.

The Bermuda Tourism Authority has launched a “major influencer and content partnership game” in a bid to encourage more of the “creative class” to travel – and do business – to the island in areas film and photo shoot opportunities.

A spokeswoman said BTA “will leverage these new relationships to create valuable business development, film and photo shoot opportunities that will benefit Bermuda across multiple platforms.”

She added: “While on the island, influencers will work alongside a select group of local content creators who will help them have authentic Bermuda and Cup Match experiences.

“Going forward, BTA plans to expand its partnerships with local content creators as new campaigns roll out in 2022 and beyond.”

BTA’s Cup Match influencer guests include:

“These partnerships will cement important relationships with influential content creators, as well as work to develop our own local talent in this space.”

The spokesperson added, “In keeping with Cup Match’s Empowerment Day roots, this year’s influencer and content partnerships represent BTA’s fulfillment of Bermuda’s National Tourism Plan’s ongoing efforts to encourage more black travelers to visit the island.

“By bringing authentic and influential black voices to the island at this important event, potential black visitors will see Bermuda culture at its best.”
