Twitchers and budding bird enthusiasts alike will be in for a treat as a local bird advocate, James Rawdon will be back for a 5th Bird Banding Weekend at Thanda Safari from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th February.

Rawdon, who obtained his bird banding permit in 2012, considers Thanda Safari, located 23 km north of Hluhluwe in KZN, the perfect environment to see the plethora of birds living among the Big Five in the reserve. private.
Take the unique opportunity to see firsthand how wild birds – including migratory birds – are captured, banded and released. Thanda resident wildlife photographer Christian Sperka will capture those special moments, taking pictures of birds and ‘guests with birds’.
